Современному театру танца нужно особое, умное тело. Родственное сегодняшнему дню. Во многих умах сегодня живёт идея современного танца, но не в каждом теле она рождается. Своим студентам я часто советую двигаться впереди собственной мысли, чтобы телодвижения не стали её плагиатом.

This was my first time participating in the Free Dance Festival and also my first visit to the Ukraine.
I was made to feel very welcome by the organizers of the festival and the people helping them.
To me it was very nice to see that so many local companies and people sponsored the festival and made the extensive program of performances and teaching. It was impressing to see the students work all day in the different classes and sometime I wondered how they were going to digest all this sometimes very varied information.
In my classes the students were on the whole very hungry for new information and willing to try out new things. In Dnipropetrovsk they were a bit younger then in Kiev I think which made for a different atmosphere. In Kiev we had more talks and discussions beside the physical work.
The festival in Dnipro was clearly more established then in Kiev. But for some of the pieces it was a much better situation to perform in the intimate theatre of the centre in Kiev then the big stage theatres in Dnipro.
I really hope to be coming back!
